I love color. LOVE IT! The energy, the energy, the excitement of color feed my soul. But sometimes the story calls for monochrome.
Sometimes the story calls for the timelessness or nostalgia that only a black and white edit can provide.
Stripping color from a photograph is sometimes necessary to eliminate the distraction of overwhelming elements, allowing us to focus on the subjects and the moment.
I also love how a black and white edit can intensify the light and details in a scene.
We are switching gears completely in The Art of Storytelling Facebook group this month and focusing on Stories in Black and White.
